Step 4 – What happens next?

When the College receives your complete application including your non-refundable deposit, the Enrolment Officer will check for available places in the Pre-Prep classes.  If a place is not available, the Enrolment Officer will notify you of this and you can decide if you would like to be placed on our waiting list for notification as soon as a place becomes available.  When an available place has been identified for possible enrolment,  the Enrolment Officer will commence the following process:

The Enrolment Officer will contact you to organise a mutually suitable time for you to attend a Pre-Prep Enrolment interview with the Pre-Prep Director or a nominated delegate.  Your child will need to accompany you to this appointment.

During your enrolment interview, the Director will interact with your child and show them around the Pre-Prep Learning Centre.  You may also nominate your preferred days for your child to attend Pre-Prep (5 days a week or 5 days a fortnight).

After you have attended your enrolment interview, within a short time you will receive notification in writing if your child’s enrolment has been successful.

If your child’s enrolment is successful, you will receive notification in the mail confirming this.  You will also receive information about their allocated days of the week (if you have nominated 5 days a fortnight), their new class, who their new class teacher will be, and the date they can commence at the Pre-Prep Learning Centre.

Step 5 – Purchasing Pre-Prep Uniforms

If possible, your child should be in Mackay Christian College Pre-Prep uniform the day they commence at Mackay Christian College.  The Mackay Christian College Uniform Shop is located on Providence, our Junior School Campus.   All uniform needs for Pre-Prep are available.

Step 6 – Commencing at the Pre-Prep Learning Centre

When your child arrives to commence their first day at the Pre-Prep Learning Centre you must sign them in at the Pre-Prep Learning Centre Reception.  You are welcome to stay and settle your child into the Centre but when you leave make sure to say goodbye to your child.  This is an important  aspect of a successful transition into Pre-Prep.

The Pre-Prep Learning Centre has an Open Door policy and welcomes parents to visit any time however if you choose to take advantage of this Open Door Policy you will need to be actively involved with your child.  If you have any skills, interests, or knowledge that you would be willing to share with the Prep-Prep Learning Centre please let us know.
